The Vienna Lager introduced much of Europe to the crisp, clean dark malt profile and grew to become one of the most popular beer styles the German-speaking realm. Later Austrian brewers who emigrated to Mexico in the late 19th century took the style with them adding their twist, the prime example being the oft-cited Negra Modelo. Our Vienna Lager is reddish brown in color and characterized best by malty aroma and slight malt sweetness provided by its base of Vienna and Munich German style malt. Hop bitterness is medium-low thanks to the addition of Hallertauer in the boil. However it's the Vienna malt that makes up the majority of the grist for this true Vienna lager, we're sure you'll love the toffeeish and bready flavors of this classic dark lager.
